Max Duarte was born and raised in Mexico City (U.S. Passport). He is Co-founder and Principal at Genève-Rhone Capital Management, a private equity firm focused on a multi-strategy endowment-style fund and IDF Capital, an infrastructure development fund. Both ventures focused in Mexico and South America.

Duarte specializes in the energy sector (power, oil & gas), infrastructure investments and Public-Private Partnership. He is an expert at originating, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, executing, closing and managing a wide variety of local and cross-border transactions. These include private equity investments, corporate and project debt financings, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures, public offerings and global markets transactions for businesses of all sizes across diverse industries and in multiple countries.

During his younger years, Duarte spent time in Europe pursuing an auto racing career at the highest level and was the driver for a 1995 effort in World Sports Cars for the 24 Hours of Daytona. He is a dedicated Polo player with 20 years of experience playing to a 3 handicap and is a United States Polo Association Certified Umpire.

A strong believer in giving back to the community, Duarte chaired a Christmas Toy Drive to benefit The Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women and Children of Los Angeles. He is also involved in annual fundraisers for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
